Christmas cards are an important way of sending seasonal greetings to clients and business contacts however there’s no denying they impact on our fragile environment. According to reports humans send enough Christmas cards that if placed alongside each other, they’d cover the world’s circumference 500 times! The sad fact is that most of these will be binned once Christmas is over.
Cast your minds back to last Christmas and you may recall being a lucky recipient of one of Hillside Product Design’s (HPDL) extra special Christmas festive greetings. They were extra special because they were created entirely from seeded paper. Within each piece of intricately laser cut paper, were unidentified wildflower seeds. It was a pleasure to see what grew in the months following. For a little experiment we planted the off cuts and spares in our own planters and we enjoyed the sight of some spectacular wildflowers brightening up the office.
Building on this success, we are reviving these extra special festive greetings again for 2019 with a bit of makeover and we can’t wait to send them out.
