The role of a Product Design Consultancy is often as much about redesign as it is about new product development design. Hillside Product Design already had a successful track record of collaboration with our long term client MKTest Systems and we were appointed to be the mechanical design team responsible for developing the three-dimensional form of their new Bond & Loop Resistance Tester (BLRT) product and delivering it through tooling to production.
MKTest Systems is a manufacturer of specialist electrical and electronic test equipment used in the construction and maintenance of aircraft, trains, and military equipment. MKTest Systems recognized that there was a great opportunity to improve the ergonomic, aesthetic, and mechanical aspects of this new BLRT product, learning on the lessons that have been learned in the lifecycle of the original.
The end result of this collaboration is that this BLRT product is now called the ExLRT and is approved and used by The Boeing Company.
