Several months ago our very talented, Tom Bonfield was a finalist for the prestigious Plastic Industry Awards for the Young Designer of the Year for his work on Lockabox. And we were delighted when Peter Morris, founder of the innovative Lockabox was not only awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year but also the overall Business of the Year at the Herald Express South Devon Business Awards.
Last week, Tom found himself dusting off his black tie attire to join the rest of the Hillside Product Design team for a champagne reception at the glittering and prestigious ceremony for the South Devon Business Awards. We had been short-listed for Most Innovative business, against a record number of entries.
We had an unexpected start to the evening – we were presented with a framed finalist’s certificate by Steve Gaskell of Action Coach. As a former client of Steve’s, we had been entered for the Engage and Grow category at the Action Coach Business Excellence Forum and Awards which had taken place a week prior. Here he is with our Managing Director, Chris Howsam.
As we joined more than 300 people, the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service Corps of Drums played us in to dinner for a wonderful evening, a much deserved night out with the team.
We may not have won, this time, but the champagne flowed and we all enjoyed celebrating our success.
