The client is a well-known UK designer and manufacturer of lightweight Exhibition Systems. The design brief was to design a twist lock assembly space frame system that would build flat planar structures and columns to enable users to build simple yet rigid structures.
The system was developed to offer maximum versatility and this was achieved by devising a node assembly which could be configured as 12 ways, 8 ways or 4 ways. Each node half snap fitted to any other and was ultrasonically welded for a permanent assembly. The tubes are all pre-set lengths and each end was pre fitted with a two part pull-up bayonet assembly.
The system was easily assembled with a quarter turn of the tube once engaged into the node connector. On site installation time was dramatically reduced and the system is reusable and reconfigurable.
