Adaptable Footwear

The client is a specialist footwear manufacturer who produces flexible shoe coverings that provide grip in icy and slippery conditions. The customer wanted to create a new range of footwear which incorporated interchangeable stud plates. 

With these the user could change the type of stud to suit the surface conditions they would be walking on. This flexibility means that the customer only needs to purchase one pair of shoe covers instead of several. The new design was created to fit a wide range of shoe styles and sizes. 

The project was undertaken with careful consideration to cost and lead time. The component designs were issued as CAD data with accompanying 2D control drawings.
