CLIENT: Office Partitioning Supplier

INDUSTRY: office Systems

The client was a key name in the Office Partitioning Industry. Their system utilised floor and ceiling members which were spaced apart by slotted vertical members and locked in place with jacking screws. Plain or glazed panels could be attached to the vertical members by hanging them into the slots.

The design brief was to redesign the glazing frames to reduce the cost per component, improve assembly and use invisible fixings. Several options were costed and the frames were designed as extruded aluminium with mitre cut corners and L shaped internal braces and fixings. The fixings were configured to pull the mitre joint together and this eliminated any gaps at the joint making the frame appear continuous.
