The client is an award winning designer and manufacturer of UHF radio systems. The brief was to liaise with the client’s electronics and radio engineers to design a versatile enclosure that would future proof the client’s enclosure requirements for configurable 1 - 4 key transmitters for several years.
Hillside Product Design prepared 3D CAD models of different internal arrangements to arrive at a set of features which would be common between handheld, wall mounted and worktop operated configurations.
The concept design stage progressed in several stages beyond this and included specifying PCB module footprints, preparing CAD visuals and building rapid prototypes for a series of test builds. The components were manufactured from 3D CAD data and 2D control drawings.
