Flexible LED Display Panel

The Queen’s Colour Squadron – the elite drill display team for the RAF Regiment wanted to incorporate Xyloband’s unique, coordinated LED technology into a drill routine for military tattoos and displays. This would supplement the Squadron’s world class drill with exciting LED light patterns which create mesmerising formations and the opportunity to form messages which fill the parade ground.

Hillside Product Design worked closely with Xylobands and met with the RAF drill team to create flexible PCBs which could be securely wrapped onto the Squadron’s SA80 rifles, and powered by Xyloband’s proven radio-control electronics. The technology was debuted at the Virginia International Tattoo in the USA with a great reception.
