The client is a specialist in electro-stimulation. They had designed a new premium product which incorporated functionality which was unique and not to be found elsewhere within their market. They commissioned Hillside Product Design to design an external case for this new flagship product.
The client had already produced their internal electronic components and had a well-defined specification for the size, shape, style and construction of the case that they wanted. Hillside Product Design were able to take the clients specification and quickly interpret what was required. Mouldings were designed to encapsulate all internal components and allow necessary connections whilst maintaining the products aesthetic. In a short time 3D CAD files were ready to be made into a prototype.
Hillside Product Design held a review with the client utilising a prototype made in-house as a quick way of checking the fit and function of the new enclosure. The feel of the product in the hand, the fit of the belt clip, the fit of the electronics and the assembly were all reviewed. Any improvements that needed to be made were noted and incorporated into the design before production.
Hillside Product Design updated the CAD models and accompanying 2D control drawings ready for production. This data was provided ready so that they could be used in manufacture by the clients preferred toolmaker/moulder.
