Hillside Product Design was asked to design a range of beds to suit small and medium sized breeds of dogs that utilized, among other things, sustainably sourced wooden materials for the frame and a changeable fabric sling. The client had already produced a basic design and proved this with a functional prototype.
Hillside Product Design was asked to develop the clients prototype design into 3D CAD designs. HPDL then prepared several designs. Two of the options presented were chosen to progress into full scale prototypes to test fit and function, mainly relating to size and strength.
Full scale prototypes were commissioned and tested. Hillside then adapted the designs to make smaller versions to suit small dogs. HPDL prepared detailed manufacturing CAD files and 2D drawings for each of the four designs for manufacturing. HPDL also prepared images for IP protection.
