The client is well known for their range of driving efficiency monitoring devices; commonly used in fleet vehicles and increasingly adopted in private vehicles. Their products are continually undergoing development to integrate the latest data gathering methods and to keep pace with vehicle design. As part of this fast-moving development the client needed to engage a product design consultancy that could deliver a fast-track solution for a dash mounted keypad.
Hillside Product Design were able to demonstrate their pedigree in delivering right first-time solutions and were commissioned to collaborate with the client’s own electronics engineers and deliver a fully finished product design in a matter of a few weeks. The design process included concept designs to refine the PCB layout and enclosure design. This culminated in the preparation of 3D prototypes and photo realistic images to confirm the assembly, appearance and mounting of the new keypad prior to commissioning tooling.
HPDL prepared a full suite of 3D and 2D data and then nominated a toolmaker/moulding company who they knew could deliver tooling and parts within the project timeline and at the level of quality the client required. HPDL supported the toolmaker during this stage and delivered mouldings right first time as promised.
